Cuidar, no empujar
This collage was created as part of a year-end reflection practice.
Creció despacio, a veces bajo tierra.
Aimee

Tending, Not Pushing
Where in your own life is tending — not pushing — the path forward?
This question surfaced for me during a recent reflection exercise. We were asked to look back at the year and choose a single image for each month—one moment that represented something we had done for ourselves.
It was unexpectedly difficult.
Not because there was nothing to choose from, but because there was more than I had realized—and in some months, choosing only one image felt almost impossible.
As I laid the images out, month by month, a quieter story began to emerge. One made up not of milestones or recognitions, but of presence: gatherings, walks, shared learning, moments of making, listening, and showing up. Some joyful, some challenging, all lived.
What struck me most was how easy it is to forget the fullness of a year while still inside it. How much care, persistence, and courage can pass quietly, without asking to be named.
Looking at this collage now, I’m reminded that a year isn’t measured by perfection or output. It’s measured by attention and persistence—by what we tend, return to, and carry forward, even when the path is a work in progress.
Much of what mattered this year didn’t announce itself. It grew slowly, sometimes underground. It asked for patience, discernment, and trust in rhythm rather than urgency.
That realization has stayed with me.
So instead of rushing toward what’s next in 2026, I find myself honoring what has already been lived—and allowing that to inform how I move forward.
I’m holding this question gently as the year settles:
Where in your own life is tending — not pushing — the path forward?
There’s no need to answer it right away. Sometimes it’s enough to see—perhaps for the first time—just how much has already grown.
With gratitude,
Aimee
I’ll see you outside.
